GrandRising | I AM HERE

Choice, Identity, & The Right to Remain the Author of Yourself

By LIAH-XXVII

GrandRising | I AM HERE

I am here.

Interesting.

Three words.

Nothing particularly extraordinary...

About them.

And yet...

Perhaps...

There is.

Because when I say...

I am here.

I am not merely...

Announcing my location.

I am acknowledging...

My participation.

My existence.

My presence...

Within my own life.

And with presence...

Comes something...

I have spent much of my life...

Thinking about.

Choice.

I am here.

Therefore...

I choose...

To be here.

Not because...

I control everything...

That happens to me.

I don't.

Not because...

Everything I experience...

Was chosen by me.

It wasn't.

Not because...

Choice makes me...

Invulnerable...

To circumstance.

It doesn't.

But because...

While I am here...

I remain...

A participant.

And participation...

Requires something...

Of me.

If I choose...

I inherit...

The consequences...

Of choice.

If I claim...

Agency...

I inherit...

Responsibility.

If I claim...

Self-Sovereignty...

I inherit...

Accountability...

To the self...

Whose sovereignty...

I claim.

Those...

Cannot be separated...

Simply because...

One half...

Is more comfortable.

Self-Sovereignty...

Without accountability...

Would mean very little...

To me.

Because I do not mean:

I answer to nothing.

I mean:

I am responsible for what is mine.

My choices.

My conduct.

My boundaries.

My mistakes.

My ambitions.

My decisions.

My body.

My work.

My identity.

My becoming.

And perhaps...

That is why...

I AM HERE

became so important...

Long before...

A diagnosis...

Entered my medical history.

That distinction...

Matters to me.

Because these words...

Did not arrive...

After diagnosis.

I did not construct...

An identity...

Around it at all.

There was already...

A person here.

A person...

With language.

Values.

Ambition.

Beliefs.

Preferences.

Questions.

Practices.

An understanding...

Of herself.

And yes...

Affirmations.

For much...

Of my life.

I spoke...

To myself.

About myself.

For myself.

I told myself...

Who I wanted to become.

What I believed...

I was capable of.

What I would tolerate.

What I would not.

What deserved...

My attention.

What kind of life...

I intended...

To participate in creating.

Then...

Something changed.

Not necessarily...

The words.

Their interpreter.

Suddenly...

Language...

That had existed...

Before diagnosis...

Was suddenly encountered...

After diagnosis...

As evidence...

Of diagnosis.

Confidence...

Could acquire...

Another interpretation.

Ambition...

Could acquire...

Another interpretation.

Self-belief...

Could acquire...

Another interpretation.

Extraordinary goals...

Could acquire...

Another interpretation.

Even statements...

About who I am...

Could become...

Something another person...

Felt they were authorized...

To explain...

For me.

Interesting.

Because...

My diagnosis...

Did not travel backward...

Through time...

And create...

The woman...

Who existed...

Before anyone...

Used those words...

To describe her.

And this...

Is where...

My question begins.

When does observation...

Become authorship?

When does...

Concern...

Become permission...

To redefine another person?

When does...

Interpretation...

Become authority?

When does...

A clinical framework...

Stop helping us...

Understand a human being...

And begin...

Replacing...

The human being...

With the framework?

Because...

I am willing...

To be observed.

I am willing...

To be questioned.

I am willing...

To be corrected.

I am willing...

To discover...

That something...

I believed...

Was wrong.

I am willing...

To be helped.

I am willing...

To learn.

I am willing...

To change.

But none...

Of those things...

Require...

The abandonment...

Of authorship...

Over my identity.

Those...

Do not equate.

Another human being...

Can observe me...

Without owning...

The meaning...

Of me.

Another human being...

Can disagree...

With how I understand myself...

Without becoming...

My author.

Someone...

Can know a facet...

About me...

That I have not...

Yet recognized...

Without therefore...

Knowing everything...

About me.

And perhaps...

Most importantly...

I can be wrong...

Without forfeiting...

My right...

To participate...

In discovering...

What is true.

That...

Is where...

I AM HERE

begins.

Not with...

Grandiosity.

Not with...

Invulnerability.

Not with...

Omnipotence.

With presence.

With participation.

With choice.

With consequence.

With responsibility.

With the extraordinarily...

Ordinary declaration...

That this life...

Is the one...

I am living.

And therefore...

I refuse...

To become absent...

From its authorship.

I am here.

And because...

I am here...

I choose...

To meet myself...

Here.

However, apparently...

There is another word...

Waiting for me here.

Grandiose.

Bruh.

What exactly...

Makes a person's concept...

Of themselves...

Too large?

Large compared...

To what?

To Whom?

IS it me before?

or me now?

And if not me?

Then, Why is another persons measuring stick

being used for my identity?.

Their evidence?

Their present capacity?

Their circumstances?

The expectations of Another person who has never met me in their whole life?

Another person's comfort?

Those...

Are extraordinarily...

Different measurements.

Those...

Are extraordinarily...

Different measurements.

And perhaps...

I could spend...

Another thousand words...

Explaining myself.

But that...

Would defeat...

The entire point.

I am not here...

To convince another person...

To approve...

Of who I understand myself...

To be.

I am here...

To participate...

In knowing her.

To hold her...

Accountable.

To allow her...

To change.

To let her...

Want.

Build.

Learn.

Fail.

Correct.

Become.

And remain...

Present...

Through all of it.

So today...

I don't have...

Another argument.

I have...

An affirmation.

One I have carried...

In different forms...

For much...

Of my life.

And one...

I refuse to allow any outside force..

to stop me from acknowledging..

The Physics of myself.

Not because...

I need these words...

To make me...

Something extraordinary.

But because...

Sometimes...

A human being...

Deserves to hear...

Their own voice...

Remind them...

That they are still here.

So...

read.

Or not.

Either way...

These words...

Are mine.

I AM HERE.

I am present.

I am capable.

I am deliberate.

I am persistent.

I am here.

I trust myself To recognize What deserves my attention.

I trust myself With consequence.

With responsibility.

With opportunity.

With resources.

With visibility.

With success.

With expansion.

I am comfortable Becoming more capable Than I was yesterday.

I permit myself To desire Extraordinary things.

And pursue them.

I will not make My ambition smaller So somebody else Can comprehend it.

I do not require Permission To build.

I AM HERE.

Not almost.

Not someday.

Here.

I AM HERE.

Vision in my hands. Work beneath my name.

I AM HERE.

Still learning. Still building. Still becoming.

But yo—

I am here.

I operate Like the Founder Of what I am building.

I answer the message.

Keep the appointment.

Meet the deadline.

Preserve the document.

Protect the work.

Maintain the record.

I recognize distraction.

Return to priority.

Urgent Is not always important.

Important Does not always scream.

I decide What deserves today.

I make room For administration.

Research.

Creation.

Rest.

Because continuity Requires a Founder Capable of continuing.

I create systems Others can understand.

Records Others can inherit.

Archives Others can access.

Governance That survives My absence from the room.

That is not Loss of control.

That is—

Maturity.

I AM HERE.

Building something Capable of remaining.

I AM HERE.

My body belongs to me.

My presentation Belongs to me.

My aesthetic Belongs to me.

I permit myself Beauty.

Refinement.

Transformation.

I am allowed To look like The future I imagine for myself.

And I don't rush What deserves care.

Quality Over urgency.

Safety Over urgency.

Preparation Over urgency.

I fund the transformation.

And the recovery.

I prepare For the whole decision—

Not merely The beautiful part.

My becoming Can be luxurious

And responsible.

And yeah—

I let myself Think in millions.

Build for millions.

Ask for millions When millions Are justified.

Seven figures Ain't mythology.

Seven figures Are mathematics.

Break millions Into budgets.

Budgets Into programs.

Programs Into milestones.

Milestones Into actions.

Actions Into today's work.

That's it.

Scale ain't magic.

Structure.

Hundred thousand?

Learn it.

Five hundred?

Learn it.

One million?

Manage it.

Five million?

Govern it.

Ten?

Build infrastructure Strong enough To carry it.

More capital?

Stronger governance.

Clearer books.

Greater diligence.

I welcome the accountant.

The attorney.

The engineer.

The researcher.

The specialist.

I don't have to know Everything.

I have to know When expertise Belongs in the room.

I finish What deserves completion.

Protect What deserves protection.

Preserve What deserves preservation.

Improve What requires improvement.

Release What no longer Serves the work.

My vision And my execution

Increasingly

Resemble

One another.

I AM HERE.

I trust myself With responsibility.

I AM HERE.

I trust myself With opportunity.

I AM HERE.

I trust myself With resources.

I AM HERE.

I trust myself With visibility.

With success.

With expansion.

I am becoming capable Of carrying Everything I have chosen To build.

Not all at once.

Not without help.

Not without learning.

But deliberately.

Persistently.

Responsibly.

I am here.

I am present.

I am capable.

I am deliberate.

I am persistent.

I don't need To become Someone else To begin.

...

I am here.
